My College Visit is a web-based application designed to help students in their college search process. We provide tools to help you define your criteria for choosing a college, create personalized visit templates, and reflect on your campus visits to make more informed decisions about your college future.
Who should use My College Visit?
Our platform is designed for students who are beginning their college search process, along with their families. It's perfect for students who want to be strategic about their college visits and use them as learning opportunities rather than just casual tours.
How much does it cost?
My College Visit is completely free while we're in beta testing. There's no credit card required to sign up, and you can start using all our features immediately. You'll be able to create up to 2 college visits. If you need more, just send us some legit feedback and we'll upgrade your account.
Wait, is it really free?
Yes, really. We're looking for feedback and want people to try the site and let us know what they think. Eventually, we will charge a relatively low fee ($10-$30) for life-time (or 5 years, which seems like a lifetime online) license fee for new accounts.
How is this different from just visiting colleges on my own?
While you can certainly visit colleges independently, My College Visit provides structure and guidance to make your visits more strategic. We help you define what factors are important to you, create personalized evaluation templates, and guide you through reflection exercises that help you learn from each visit and refine your criteria over time.

That's exactly what we expect to happen! The whole point of our progressive discovery model is that your criteria will evolve as you learn more about yourself and different college environments. Our platform makes it easy to update your criteria and re-evaluate schools as your priorities change.
Can my parents or counselors access my account?
Your account and all your notes and reflections are private to you. However, you can choose to share specific information or insights with your parents, counselors, or anyone else who is helping you with your college search process.
What happens after the beta period?
We're committed to keeping our core features accessible to all students. While we may introduce premium features in the future, the essential tools for strategic college visits will remain available. We'll provide plenty of advance notice about any changes to our pricing structure.
Is my data safe?
Privacy is super important to us. We don't sell your information and we don't plan to change that. We pick third-party services that also respect privacy and limit what information they collect. With AI specifically, we select providers that do not store your data and do not use your data for training.
